Co-Presented by MONOM and MIRA Festival , ‘Hear The World Begin’ is an interactive audiovisual installation in 4DSOUND that involves working with data and material of cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB). The aim of this project is to bring this oldest map of the universe and scientific data into a tangible art form, engaging a comprehension and interaction that lies beyond objective reality, bringing about an intimate experience and personal projection of space.
During a three-month artist residency at the Spatial Sound Institute, Rona Geffen executed a research into the alchemy of vibration and its effect on the listener. Her field of research concerns the connection between emotional and physical reception of sound by the listener in relation to shape, movement and intention, as well as the connection between sound, geometry and mathematics.
MONOM hosts Saplings Records’ first-ever showcase in the Northern Hemisphere. Founded by Fis (Oli Peryman) in 2017, Saplings has pioneered a bio-digital release format whereby sales of digital music translate to ecosystem restoration. In partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects, Saplings has funded over 14,000 trees since its inception.
