A one-time introductory session designed for artists and creatives booking MONOM studio for the first time.

The Discovery Intro Session is a hands-on introduction to the 4DSOUND system at MONOM Berlin. Participants can explore the system, test ideas, and become familiar with our immersive audio workflows – laying the groundwork for a larger project at MONOM.

Sessions are guided by a Certified 4DSOUND Engineer, who introduces the spatial audio environment and explains how sound can be composed and spatialized in the system.

No prior experience with spatial audio, immersive sound or 4DSOUND is required.

• 4-Hour Discovery Intro | €480 (excl. VAT)

• 8-Hour Discovery Intro | €960 (excl. VAT)

Includes:

• Support and technical guidance from a Certified & Licensed 4DSOUND engineer.

• Access to the 4DSOUND system.

• MONOM 4DS Engine V3.

• Ableton Live 12 setup.

• A binaural recording of the session can be made during working hours.

Experience spatial sound at MONOM

(For groups only)

Through curated listening sessions, visitors step into the 4DSOUND environment to experience selected works from the MONOM catalogue, with the option to choose from a range of available pieces.

Sessions may include a listening-only experience, a listening session with an introduction to the 4DSOUND system and immersive sound design, or the full experience including a demonstration of how live instruments may be integrated within our spatial audio environment.

Ideal for curators, institutions, sound enthusiasts, creative teams, and corporate groups interested in immersive audio experiences.

Available sessions:

• Listening Session:
  1 hour - Listening experience featuring selected works from the MONOM catalogue.

• Listening Session + 4DSOUND Introduction:
  2 hours - Listening experience combined with an introduction to the fundamentals of the 4DSOUND spatial audio system.

• Listening Session + Introduction + Live Demonstration:

  3 hours - A complete experience including listening, system introduction and a demonstration of the live capabilities of the system.

Listening sessions by MONOM

For this booking format, demos are scheduled at 6:00 PM on weekdays.

Develop new works at MONOM.

We provide studio access for artists and creators developing spatial sound compositions, immersive audio installations and multichannel sound works using the 4DSOUND system.

Artists are invited develop original compositions specifically designed for our spatial audio environment.. Projects may be developed independently or with the support of a Certified 4DSOUND engineer or producer.

Finished works may be invited to join the MONOM – 4DSOUND Archive and be presented during one of MONOM’s two annual archive showcases.

Offerings:

1. Book Studio:

• Studio Rental | €625 (excl. VAT) for 4 hours (minimum)
  Independent access to the MONOM studio for artists experienced with 4DSOUND and spatial audio production.

• Studio Rental + Technical / Creative Support | €965 (excl. VAT) for 4 hours (minimum)
  Work with a Certified 4DSOUND Engineer or Producer assisting with spatialization, system setup, creative mixing and immersive audio workflows.

• Optional: Sound Director input | €100/hour (excl. VAT)

2. Co-Production Program:

MONOM’s co-production program was designed to support the development of ambitious spatial sound works with a 50% subsidy on studio production costs.

Within our Co-production program we offer the following options: 

• Studio Rental | €3,012.50 (excl. VAT) for 40 hours

  Gives artists independent studio access for developing spatial sound works using the 4DSOUND system. *Only available for returning artists.
  

• Studio + Technical / Creative Support | €4,225 (excl. VAT) for 40 hours

  Develop a spatial sound project in collaboration with a Certified 4DSOUND Engineer or Producer providing technical and creative support throughout the production process.

• Optional: Sound Director input | €100/hour (excl. VAT)

MONOM is open to signing Letters of Intent (LOI) to support artists applying for grants.

MONOM translates stereo compositions or multichannel recordings into 4DSOUND experiences, preparing projects for playback in large-scale spatial audio environments and installations.
